Question about turkey broadhead

Shooting a 52 pound bow. I use 175 grain broadheads. Which broadhead would you recommend of the two for turkey. Ace 2 blade or 3 blade VPA terminator.

Both sound like good turkey medicine to me, I would use whatever one I pulled out of the quiver first, or what ever one you can sharpen the best.

I am using the 3 blade vpa this year. Had good luck on deer with it last year so hopefully I can give it a test on a turkey in a couple months.

Have actually harvested a turkey with a total pass thru utilizing the three blade VPA with identical draw wt. Pass thru's in the past typically revealed that I had executed a poor mark. Have had nothing but excellent results from turkeys to 500# animals.

On another note, shot placement needs to be on the mark to quickly immobilize a turkey. My personal preference is utilize a significantly larger cutting and penetrating BH.

Killed many with both types and I see no advantages or disadvantages to either, they both will work just as good as long as you do your part. Penetration results have been the same on dozens of birds.

I've been shooting big Ace heads for years now.

If you are shooting thru the mesh of a blind you will have better luck with arrow flight using a mutiblade head. Otherwise use what you are comfortable with when hunting bid game.

I like the 1-1/4" Cutting Diameter three blade 250 grain VPA for a good amount of trauma...

Will be shooting thru mesh. Did not think about that. Forgot to mention that I am also using 50 grain brass insert.

No issues shooting thru mesh and harvesting game with the various BH'S used.

No issues experienced in the recent passed couple of years shooting 3 blade VPA, Big 3's, 2 blade VPA and  mostly utilized 2 blade Tree Sharks.

Wish I knew how many animals I have shot through the mesh of my blinds with big two blade heads, centaurs, treesharks, bear razorheads and 200g Ace heads. Never had a problem with arrow flight, yes I've shot lots of 3 blade and 4 blade to and still great results.

It's easy to blame the broadheads for miss guided shots or no kills but IMHO with this many kills with the same broadheads sure proves a point for me. I have many videos to from in the blind and we went back frame or frame slow motion and saw no disturbances. Even with string trackers through the netting so take it for what it's worth, I know I will never worry about it.

Just practice shooting through your netting with what ever you choose then you will be confident with your shooting. They all work just don't over think it and ignore the netting. Good luck!

Listen to Tracy and you won't go wrong! I shoot a variety of heads thru mesh including Zwickey 4 blades both Eskimo and Delta and all fly fine.

In my experience you don't need the mesh in the windows for hunting turkeys out of a blind...

I like to shoot the biggest head I can for turkeys and for me that is the 4 Blade Palmer Extreme Cut. If I had VPA's three blade I would use them too.

Don't understand this one at all???? I have been shooting 2-blads thry mesh for years with no problems. If your setup is well tuned, it works just fine.

OP, I think either will work fine, but I also agree with the statement above advising you to use the one you can get the sharpest. Turkeys are about as tough as anything we hunt here in the states!

Shooting thru the mesh is a great advantage to me when hunting turkeys.

Even when my blinds are well brushed in for deer season, the deer often pay attention to black holes.

My blinds during turkey season are typically not brushed in. The deer avoid my blinds and often vent their disapproval if the mesh was up and have run birds off on several occassions.

I've noticed some flight inconsistency  when shooting small two blade heads through mesh. I've always used really big 4 blade heads so it's not been an issue for me.

I`ve killed Turkeys with  an assortment of broadheads but lean towards the Simmons and original woodsman. RC
