My son in law needs help

I got my son in law trying out traditional archery.  He has my Super Kodiak and three of my Big River longbows.  
He lives in International Falls, Mn and doesn't think there is any place he can hunt in the area that has much of a chance of success.  He grew up in north Dakota, it's so flat there that I always think I'm being watched.  the big woods are imposing to him, so he has gone to south of Austin a  couple of weekends.
 Any body from international Falls on here that can give him a piece of your knowlege.
