Went with the boys today to put up my new ladder stand. I'll be 15' this year, off the ground to see if I can get this done this year. I have had some close calls and a few missed shots but I decide get in a stand this year. Have to thank Ken and Jeff for the help getting it set up. I'm in a spot where I seen deer before and even shot at a couple.........maybe this year.

Good luck Ron, hope it comes together for you!

Good luck!! I have to get a pop up set up still but I'll wait until the first of September or so to do that. Tree stands are already in place. Other than that I'm just waiting on opening day...and it's not getting here soon enough!!

Good luck Ron!

You're moving the opposite direction from a lot of TradGangers, but I still prefer to be in a tree!

I love the view from up above.  I hope you get it done this year!

Be sure to keep us informed

Good luck, and don't make the same mistake I did. Get lots of practice from steep elevation, boy those steep angles can be tricky!!!

Its no different from 15ft up. Point and shoot just like always. If they are under you, dont sweat it, wait for a shot farther away. I dont think for one moment im compromising by being in a tree. Ive taken many from the ground too, and hunt both ways. Glad you are able to experience the tree.

stagetek

I think you'll love it. Nothing quite like the view from above. Enjoy.

There is just something awesome about hunting deer from a tree. Like most people I hunt everything else from the ground and I have killed a few deer from the ground but it just wasn't as exciting as watching them slowly work their way into range...I absolutely love hunting deer from a tree.. Good luck! It's getting closer every day!

Ron,

Best of luck hunting from the trees.  I hope you'll be wearing a safety harness.

Harness is all ready to go.......and a new one as back up. If I was to be in a tree, God would shaped my feet different.........lol!
