Update: We are going to hold the shoot on September 4th at Wichita Archery Inc, 3799 E 71st St S, Wichita, KS 67216.
We'll start up at 9 am.
$10 per shooter.

There will be raffle prizes and food available.

We are still hashing fine details but this much is a go.

John Holzrichter: Kansas Bowyer, World Class Archer


John has been fighting stage 4 esophageal cancer for the past few years and has held his ground firmly. For those of us who know him best, we're proud to call him more than an acquaintance. He's been a great friend, mentor, and advocate for archery for many years. There is no such thing as a stranger in John's presence. He's always willing to help and give advice to anyone who has asked.

John has not been doing very well over the past few months and has recently gotten worse. As a friend of John, I don't believe it's in him to give up the fight.

We will be holding a benefit shoot for John in the very near future  (likely in August). If anyone would like to attend, please message me here and send me your email address and I will provide details as the event planning comes together.

Sorry to hear about John's health.  I haven't seen him lately but he was always around when I first started shooting trad over 20 years ago.  He was a big influence on everyone around at the Ninnesca Bowhunters club.  He also made some pretty nice bows.  Please keep us informed.

I've known John for many years, have one of the original recurves he started building a couple decades ago, awesome shooting bow. He never really advertised just word of mouth kept him busy, if you keep everyone informed I'd love to make it to the shoot ie...which club the shoot is at? and a date?
