Hi,

What bowstring do you recommend for my blacktail (53 lbs @28 )?

For my black widow I use a SBD bowstring with 8 strands, I can used the same ?

Thank's

MnFn

I have the exact same bow. SBD's are great as are Oliver Stacey strings.  I personally like shooting a little larger string, it seems more comfortable.

TenRing String from Allen . Top notch on all accounts!!

I go to Allen as well. I like to send my nock so he can get the serving just right. I can't stand a loose nock on the serving, makes me worry about a push off and dry fire.

Another vote for Tenring Strings, great service and better strings.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Ten Ring String on my Blacktail. Fury 18 strand.  Allen's strings are awesome.    :notworthy:

I'd bet all of these string makers are great. Because Allen is a lefty his strings fit my bows really well (just kidding about the fit, not the lefty though).

Another vote for TenRingStrings. Allens strings go in all my bows. He's currently making one for my new Blacktail as well. He's awesome to deal with and easy to talk to. Trust me I think I've called him 10 times the past week or so.

Allen gets my vote! Just got a string form my hummingbird last week. Made a difference in how my bow shoots

LBR

If it's rated for high performance materials, ID go with 18 strands of BCY-X for outdoor shooting or 18 strands of 8190 for indoors.

LBR

That should be 18 - 20 strands.  BCY-X Outdoors/hunting because with 17% Vectran it's quieter and more stable even in higher temps.  8190 is 100% SK90 Dyneema for the absolute best performance and durability...slightly better performance than BCY-X, but not as stable in higher temps.

I used 8 strand SBD strings with wool puffs on my Blacktails.Very pleased with the quietness and soft shot that the string displayed.Definatly better than the stock strings that I swapped out.

Allen will set you up at Ten Ring Strings. I believe he shoots a Blacktail.

I don't shoot a black tail, but I do know that BCY-X will make even a Samick Journey shoot great, and do it quietly.

not a big skinny string fan anymore too hard on fingers after lots of shooting, went back to or going back to 14-18 strand depending on material.
