Roy, I shoot my Whisper a tad over 7" brace height from the back of the grip.

i didn't realize the whisper was a reverse riser, which usually indicates a need for more brace height.

I set mt brace at 6&1/4 and adjusted my nocking point and now my arrows are flying as if on a string.

I love it when a bow just begs to be shot, even when it's a 100 degrees outside...lol

I just shipped one back to Craig it was 70'' Big 5 with a slight dish grip. Having it cut down to 68'' and the grip changed to a straight grip and a redo on the finish and new leather. With the cut down it should increase the draw weight a little......stabow

i think it will increase the draw weight a lot, but maybe that's what you want.  if not, i'd check with craig.

That's funny I was playing with brace height yesterday.  For some reason in my head I thought that my 68" hill was supposed to be around 6" well I checked captain jacks site and changed my BH to 6 1/2" and dang this bow shoots sweet.  After about 50 shots with broad heads the decisions to shoot and hunt with just my hill is confer Ed to be correct.

messing with stick bow brace height and nock location is tres important for well flying arras!

It's a little on the light side for me now so 5-6# will be good I ask Craig to leave the weight alone after the cutting it to 68''. That will make it in the high 40tys or low 50tys range......stabow

Anywhere from 6" to 6 3/4" is the range for most Hill style bows.  My Kramer is right at 6 1/4".  It depends on the weight and spine of the arrow and most bows have a sweet spot where they just shoot the best.  Start low and move up.

I shoot 6 1/4" brace on my 66" hills, 6 1/2" on 68" but really I don't find a big difference between them all. I guess I have noticed the lower the better.  The challenge is tuning an arrow, it's length, spine, head wt, etc...AND BH.  its a lot of variables

I have one Hill style bow where the nock pt is higher than normal, but shoots great.  It is quite high but again, arrows are like lasers.  Why might this be?

Hi Patrick,

Robin Hood shoots great. I haven't decided how I will use it yet, I think for target shooting. I have been making sure all is a go on my elk bows so I have been shooting it mostly lefty. I am not used to the bigger grip, so I swapped out the elk hide for a thinner leather. I am thinking about target points 125gr and tune it in. I think my preference is a standard backset design, I am not sure I shoot a string follow quite as well. I will know better when it is all dialed in.  Thanks for asking!  I have that Miller split Bamboo LB rocking and it is essentially a string follow once I am shooting it so I am sure the Robin Hood will be a tack driver too.

Hey Chuck, Tiller is perfect...must be operator error.

Finally have a picture of one of the Hill style bows I built at full draw. I posted a picture of this bow a few months ago.

The bow with the koa riser is almost finished. I will post pictures of it soon.

Thanks to the latest issue of TBM, I put a laced leather grip on this bow.

I really like how it looks and feels.
