The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

Is there a book or video out there about building Hill Style bows?

Mr.Mudd, thanks for posting those pics!  JohnI ,those are beautiful!

Mr. O'Shay please post pics when you get that bow in.

I feel like this next 8 months or so is going to be painfull!

I really like the looks of the Hawk, what are your draw weights and lengths of your bows JohnI?

Beautiful, just beautiful, is the belly glass on the expedition the same old black woven material that Mr. Miller uses on the back?  Can you feel the nodes of the bamboo  on the back?

How are the tips ? Are you shooting b50 or FF?

Thanks again!

Purdy bows. So simple, yet so alluring, mystic and so on. With pics like these Hills, who needs Viagra anyways:)

I think accuracy as a whole. I know I can kill deer with how I'm shooting now because I've done it but I'm just wondering to what sort of level is everyone at (if that makes sense).

I'm always challenging myself to shoot better or to improve my form but right now my groups don't seem to be getting any smaller and I'm wondering why I've hit a glass ceiling....
For me accuracy is determined not in the group size but in stump shooting.  For hunting practice walking around and being able to shoot at different targets, multiple and longer distances, and focusing on the arrow that is "in the bow" as it is the only shot of importance is key.

I think standing and shooting "groups" can lead to great form building, but for hunting practice it is way overrated.  I have shot for years where that was the measurement, How well are you grouping?  My interest is in hunting, so the "bag" is for form practice usually close or with eyes closed.  In the woods with the pine cones, dirt banks, leaves, cans, plastic bottles, and any of the various small game "critters" is the best way,  to know your hunting accuracy.  We are human and have good and bad days. I couldn't agree more.

Thanks for the compliments. The Expedition is 68" 69@27 has linear glass on the belly and the nodes  can be felt under glass on back. The Hawk is 67" 65@27 and the tips on both are 7/16. Both bows use B50.

Great stuff!  Thank's for sharing!!!

JohnI, those bows look amazing!  I'm about 3 months in on my Expedition wait and these pictures helped ease the time alittle.  Thanks for sharing.

Hey Kyle, I was thinking the same thing and then I saw some guys on the Bowyers Bench had some info together. I haven't started mine yet, but this might get you going on the right track:

Hopefully other guys know of a good book or DVD that focuses on the Hill style specifically.

The fiberglass will give you 4fps more speed, along with more jar.

Nothing like the feel of a wood bow.

This is the best pic of the tips, it is a Split Bamboo, other than the extra lam, they look the same.....
