IT has been overcast, drizzling, and at times just an out and out gulley washer since it arrived. If it ever slacks up enough, I'll be able to answer your question. Until then....   :banghead:   and I'll keep thinking about...   :archer2:

Molson

Danny you just don't have your mind right. I'm sure you can get at least 10 yds inside the house somehow....   :archer2:

Tim -

At one time I tried standing in the dining room, shooting across the living room, down the hall, into the guest bedroom with the target sitting on the bed. That gave me about 17 steps. That worked just fine until the third arrow. The first two tilted the target a little and just as I released the third, the target rolled back. Naturally the arrow passed over the target and into the wall behind. Luckily I was the only one home. I had a little spackling compound and some touch up paint left over. That was five years ago and so far, no one has noticed. Not wanting to push my luck, I've decided to restrict all my shooting to outdoors.

Molson and Danny-

It's been about 15yrs since I shot in the house. I  had a townhouse were I would shoot from the back of the 12' backyard into the living room through the foyer. The target was in front of the steel door. Before I sold the town house, I had to patch up some holes in the steel door. Man, it's nice having a yard.

Good to find that I'm not the only crazed longbow shooter that has okayed indoor practice with the possible full penetration of sofas couches chairs and walls.

I shoot every day in my basement getting a full 13 yard shot out of it. Great practice. Not so great when the wife and I start having meetings to 'discuss finishing it' which usually involves her eliminating said indoor range.... lol

In my old house would shoot often, now live in a trilevel kinda hard.  What I find is to shoot in garage at close distant for form each night helps, then go stumping once a week.

I shoot inside my house everyday.

It may only be the 6 arrows I shoot in here for the day before heading off to bed but I get these six down to where my Christmas lights are plugged in. I make my shots and while I'm there retrieving my arrows I flip off the lights for the night.

During rainy days almost all of my shooting is done inside.

Let me start this off by saying my go to bow is a Sunset Hill made by Nate while I was in Iraq. He named it "Liberty" and that was in 2006. Now there is a story about Liberty and for most of this past summer I was without my best bow. I will follow up soon with the story and photos of Liberty but first I wanted to share with you a couple of Schulz bows I picked up while I was without Liberty.

The top one is a Legend and the bottom is a Tonkin. Both are outstanding and will be handed down through the family long after I am gone.

I just had some of that hog that I shot this week. Man it was juicy; I put it in my charcoal smoker with some hickory wood chips earlier today. When you press down on the meat with a fork, you can see the juice rising to the top and it was tender too.

That sounds tasty Darren. As we speak I'm prepping a marinade for some tenderloins I'm doing for the family tomorrow night. First venison any of us will ever have had from a longbow hunt.....

Darren,
Great shot on that hog and looking at your photo makes me wish I was pokin through those palmettos right about now! This was last week where I live trying to find a frozen spruce hen! Even the caribou are cold: -47

Dave-

You got some really special bows, I would hold on to them and pass them down to each generation.

Yesterday, one on my neighbors had an estate sale because the mom passed away. There were all these tools and personal stuff that this person collected over there life time for sale, and the kids were selling everything for $2 and $3 dollars. I asked my son if he was going to sell all my archery stuff for 2 or 3 dollars at a estate sale. He told me no way, I'm going to keep it because it was yours. That made me feel good. This is my step son that I've been raising since he's been 5yrs old, now he's 17.

I need to make a trip to Alaska one day, that part of the country is beautiful. How close were you to the caribou in the picture, and was that in your back yard? One day I'm going to go on a caribou hunt. I had the opportunity to try the meat once and it was delicious.

Hi David;

I remember when you ordered that bow-seems like so long ago. Good to see you around these parts and hope you are home for good! Again, thanks for your service to our Country and same to all others who have served!
