Don-

Great looking bow, the process of making a laminated bamboo riser must be difficult. I wonder if it makes a stronger or heavier riser.

Nate-

Your right, its very hard to hunt these areas, the palmettoes are dense and thick making it hard to find these animals. Even the wooded areas are thick with brush, making it hard to walk and stalk.

Howard Hill talked about the first deer he killed was in Canada, because Florida was tough to hunt.

Thank you Ric,

I just got my second Hill.  A Cheetah to keep my Wesley Special company and now I'm in need of another one.  I thank you and my wife hates you!

Mudd

I readily admit that I am a pitiful excuse for a man.

No more will power than a 2 year old sometimes.

I will be eating ramen noodles for quite a while now.

I did not know that you were an ambidextrous like me.  I always wanted one of those, but I hate rammin noodles.  My freezer only freezes organic and wild meat, I just gotsta have my steaks, so my next new bow will have to wait.

Mudd

I am not ambidextrous, just a glutton for putting myself into potential binds..lol

Some of you were discussing Instinctive Archer Magazine and wondering why I haven't yet started it up again or began a new magazine.

It has nothing to do with the time required to produce it, as that is a labor of love, it simply comes down to money, which is directly related to the state of the economy.

Instinctive Archer was doing great and growing rapidly until the Dot Com bubble burst and the U.S. economy tanked badly. When that happened, our subscriber numbers began slowly dropping, and in August 2001, I was going to have to borrow money to print the Fall Issue, but I could see the economy was getting worse, not better, so I closed down the magazine.

Two weeks later, the September 11 attack occurred, and the economy got far worse.

Then the entire world's economy collapsed in 2008, and then a new president took over and the economy really took a punch in the gut. Things have gone from bad to worse to far worse.

I keep waiting for the economy to rev up again, and when it does, keep your eyes peeled for a new, even better magazine. I have owned the wayofthebowmagazine.com domain for quite a while. I am hoping someday I get to make use of it.

Until then, I am going hunting. And shooting. And camping. And Scouting. And making strings and arrows and quivers and other gear. And shooting in archery tournaments. And reading great old books with lots of archery history in them.

You know-------living The Way of the Bow.

I have to quit stopping by here until I get my bow. I am like a kid waiting for Christmas.

Rik as I read your post I'm watching a commercial on tv where someone is getting a nice car for Christmas. I think I've seen these like 100 times or more in the last week. Makes me think the economy is increadable and everyone is doing much better than me,however, thats tv. Hope things turn around soon, it was a really good mag hope it happens again.

Rik, That is about right. I like the way you roll.Real.
I will be waiting for the new rag. Enjoyed the old one and do miss it. Thanks for all of the GREAT pics and stories here. I must make a trip west SOON. Can a Michigan man get a tag for the Idaho Mountains? I need to roam next fall.
