Ron, are these ShrewHills going to be a regular bow from you? And how long is that waiting list?

Mudd

If the waiting list for a "ShrewHill" is long enough I might be able to save enough to actually pay for it...lol

I would love to be on your list Ron, just tell me what to do.

It would be one of the few times in my life that I could catch a wave at it's beginning.

How cool would that be?... Way!!!!..I'm saying...

God bless,Mudd

I'm taking orders on the ShrewHill now. Our waiting time on all of the Shrew bows is down to about 14 months.

Ken, I'll have one at Denton but it's going to be left handed...sorry   :dunno:

Ron I sent you an e-mail for the details.

14 months isn't too long to wait for something special.

Mudd that was my thought too, plus the wait gives one time to save up for the purchase as well!

Chuck,  I'm confused a little as well.  maybe Rob D. can elaborate.  I had the impression that this thread concerned Howard Hill bows, generally meaning straight-limb style bows....of which there are many makers, and the interest caused HH Archery to become a sponser. (this thread influenced HH Archery to join TG where the past years of Hill talk on TG could not.) However, there has been much talk concerning all things pertaining to Hill style bows, including bows from many bowyers who make a straight limb Hill style bow....  I didn't understand that this thread was exclusive to HH Archery Longbows only.....if that is the case, then my bad,    :(
Please accept my apologies for my ignorance...   :(
this thread started off solely about howard hill archery longbows, per the topic starter.  i won't use the word "hijacked" but lots of other hill style bows have been way more than mentioned.  some of these other hill style bows are trad gang sponsors, some aren't.  if i or terry thought this was a problem, something would have happened to this thread many months ago.

i think steve "frank bullitt" said it well ...

"Really, the "Hill copies", are in honor of a man, and his bow."

... and i doubt even craig ekin would have a problem with that.

so, to clear the air and set the record straight, this thread has morphed into a hill style, american flat longbow appreciation thread.  i hope that's ok with everyone.

That is great, thanks for the clarification. Rob it is all good.  This thread is like a Tradgang "filibuster".  And the info is getting us pumped about bowhunting, shooting, history, of all things Howard Hill!  Trad gang rocks.

This online enviroment that you have created allows for a civil, intellegent, informative thread.  That would not exisit without the effort of you and Terry.  Thank you for this format.  Nuff said, On with the Hill spirit....

If it's long and fairly straight limbed then in my mind it's a "Hill Style" bow and with it in hand I am transported to my "Sherwood Forest" from the days of my youth watching Howard make the shots for Errol Flynn (Robin Hood).

It just doesn't get any better than that for me and my heart's desires when it comes to traditional archery.

It has affected my life in a positive and rewarding way, my wheels are gone, my daughters wheels are gone, I view bowhunting as a great passion again...(I had lost that with my compound) and it has taken me back to REALLY ENJOYING SHOOTING for the sake of shooting.  I lost as well in my compound days....It has breathed life into a stale burned out carcass....Mine! There is that connection to others and ourselves.  The longbow excites the spirit of adventure.  Mr.  Howard Hill epitomized that adventuresome bowhunting spirit.  Just read about his encounter with the lion returning to camp and you are taken to a whole different level.  Can you even imagine that!  He tried different designs but the straight, thick limbed American Semi-long just works in the hunting conditions better.

This thread has revitalized and influenced me to commit to working more on my shooting form, and improving my shooting and hunting skills.  I am really getting excited about the coming fall.  Plus, I am sick of sweating outside shooting! come on cooler weather.

GLLI is coming in southern MI.  Everyone that can make it...SHOW UP WITH YOUR HILL BOWS!!!

It's fun shooting the "Hill Shoot" with a straight Hill bow as it should be done!

I used to be one of only a few with an actual Hill bow, this year I expect that might change!??

Just found this   VIDEO  of Howard Hill, thought I'd share.

Hey, Ron: Anything below 97 is too COLD to shoot!

Just kidding, as I am really enjoying shooting in our cooler dry season; we shoot, and there is hardly any sweat, whereas in a month or so, we'll shoot, and finish drenched in sweat.

I just watched the video.  I've never seen that one before.
Rob, would it be possible to include it in the Howard Hill forum?
