That's OK.  I found it.

Thanks, Y'all.  We picked up a female German Shepard pup this afternoon.  Soon as we got her home I started training her....."wanna go shoot the bow?".   And off we went.

Pics of the Wildcat will be up at some point today.

Rob, looking forward to them!

As promised here is the new Big 5. 68", 42# @ 27" w/black glass back, clear belly and cocobolo riser. I just love the cocobolo in this riser!

Just curious for you guys that have shot Craig's Hill bows for a while, how durable is the finish on his products? Just curious cause I saw a 10 year old Wesley special whose finish appeared to be flaking off, not sure if it just wasn't cared for or if this is common with these bows. Thanks.

I've had my Wesley for a few years and she looks like new still.  My other Hills are doing fine finish-wise as well.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

MikeM

my oldest hill is 10 years old and youngest 5 years old and the finish on all of them is like new

I gave a kid a Hill that was made over 30 years ago and the finish, even in the string grooves, was like new, the bow shot like new as well.  I have seen longbows with the finish failing. I think the amount of sun exposure may something to do with it.  It is very easy to refinish a bow.

Here's my finished Cheetah blank I ordered from Craig. I think she turned out pretty nice. She did come out to the poundage I wanted and she shoots fantastic. I wanted a dark brown thin leather grip, and my friend Bud B. helped me out with that. I love the pig skin wrap, Thanks again Bud.

Nice B5 TW....and Congrats Knawbone on finishing that Cheetah.  She came out well, and I agree with TW....gotta get a look at her in action.

My friend and fellow Toolmaker donated this German silver medalion for the project. He etched it on an EDM for his bother who had the same initials. His brother past away before he could give it to him, so he gave it to me for the bow.

I'm hoping to maybe hunt with my Red Hawk this season and need a Hill back quiver to complete my setup. That is next on my list. (HINT)   :D

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I'm going to see if I can find a better camera and get some full draw pics and stung pics of the new bow. These pics I take with the pocket cam just don't cut it. This bow was an attempt to build a Hill bow that would throw a 50- 55 spine cedar with a 125 grn BH. My cedars are cut at 26" 1/4 for my Hill bow draw length, making my arrow weight right around 480 grn. After re-checking, the bow is right at or just over 48 lbs @ 25 1/2" which is my actual draw length. With a little adjustment of strike plate thickness this bow is shooting these arrows perfect. Once I made the strike plate adjustment, my first shot was only 1/4" off dead center of the bulls eye. It shoots straight, flat, and fast. The 65" length and poundage is a perfect match as well. Couldn't be happier with the results.

Jason and Craig really came threw on this one. I really enjoyed talking and working out what I wanted on this bow, and is usually the case, I had it in about four weeks. Again, couldn't be happier with the results. HHA gets my nod. By buying a blank, I was able to truly make this bow a taylor made custom Hill. So a big thank you go's out to Craig and Jason.

I'm glad you did go with the 65" length, even though I like my new to me 66" if/when I order a new bow it'll be 65". Never gave doing a blank much thought but I love what you did with yours!
