I've got my eye on an old Ben Pearson 709 Hunter...it's a cool looking bow, and I want an old vintage bow to hunt with. I think I can probably get it for around $100. It's in good shape, 45 lbs@28...anybody have any experience with these?

I own two. They are great shooters. They won't break the sound barrier, so go around 8gpp on an arrow or just a little more if you also want speed. With the 10gpp hunting standard it'll get a little sluggish, but still with plenty of whitetail umph! Of course, the heavier the arrow the more quiet the bow will become. Use a Dacron string only. B50 or B55 would be my suggestion.
