I've been a Swandri wool fan for years. The stuff is top notch. I own two of the zip up coats, one in the Brit camo and one with the sticks and limbs camo. This is the first one I've seen which is a pull over in the Brit camo. Very cool!!

I remember that wool haven't seen any in years.  Where is it available at?

LC

Yeah  good question, is it still being made?

It is, but not in camo.  red or blue plaid and a couple solid colors is it.

They have a web site.   BTW   a lot of wool from down under ( AU / NZ ) appears to have a blend of possum fur in it.  The possum down there is a pest, not indigenous to NZ and they found a way to make use of its pelt, which is actually luxurious, nothing at all like our home town possums.  I brought my wife a scarf and a few other woolen items from a trip in NZ and they became her favorites.

Its still being made, Though like many natural fibre  companies, Swanndri has suffered from the synthetic garment takeover.

Possum fur is a luxury item and is mixed with high grade merino wool for more fashionable wear. it wouldnt last (The merino or the possum fur) as hunting clothing but is very soft and warm.
For hunters its a great way to earm some extra cash collecting the fur.

About 120 possums went into these two bags and should get me 600 odd dollars.

I have one in the camo bought from Paul Brunner when he was running Screaming Eagle archery...back in the day.  Great jacket.

Wool camo I always wanted, but couldn't afford at the time, although it was very reasonably priced if I remember correctly...

Well, I just discovered a box on my front porch which contains the pull over. Guess I have to open it up to see how well it fits. I plan on taking a jaunt with it this weekend.

Someone mentioned to me that the new swandri wool garments are being made in china. I hope that isn't true.

Most wear it as an outer layer, but I prefer mine UNDER a heavier coat when it gets really cold. The Swannies are not very heavy or bulky, and they fit really well as a cold weather layer.
I really like the long length.

I love the swanndri - have a couple jackets and pants.  there is some on the big auction site right now.

Yep, most the new Swanndri is made in China.

Ken,
I have a Swanndri treebak shirt, it is my favorite piece of wool clothing.  I wear it so much the cuffs & lower sleeves have been replaced twice.  The zippers on the sleeves/cuffs instead of buttons are the best part; I don't understand why other manufacture doing use zippers.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

I have 4 pieces(one is a vest) of New Zealand pullovers. Great items although none are camo. Haven't really needed anything but the various plaids.

I got one just about like the one in the first picture but it zippers. It keeps me warm into the low 30's upper 20's. I really like the length for sitting on stands. Perfect for Pine tree stands.
