QuoteOriginally posted by Lethalflight57:
Although I can shoot heavier, all my longbows and recurves are between the range of 49#-54#.  These weights permit year-round shooting accuarcy and sufficient performance for all my 3D and hunting pursuits.  I am primarily a Whitetail hunter with occassional Elk trips and smaller game animals as the intended species.  These weight ranges with sharp broadheads provide the confidence for clean harvests regardless of the effects of the weather (i.e. cold sits on stand for long periods of time).
Agree 100%   Im in the same range and prefer my 54@28 for most versatile and all around tool of the trade.

61#@27", just had my draw length re checked at a local bow shop and had my Howatt Hunter scaled at my draw length. I started with a 45# recurve, then I worked up to 55#'s, worked up to the 61#.

43# @ 25" .... 150fps @ 500gr .... not smokin but sufficient. I'd rather be accurate than tough and I'm not capable of being both as some are.
