The BEST in anything is the one that YOU like the best....easy answer..

That's true, and mostly best when you get to shoot one (or more) of "one you like best" a little first. I certainly like my Anneewakee Addiction, Blackie the best of ANY bow I've ever shot - now if I could just see (and get a shot at) a few deer (even just one -    :D ).

Just got my Cascade Golden Hawk Mag last week and already love it.  Circa 1990, it's real nice looking and at 65# it's the smoothest bow in my arsenal.

Gene Sanders in Dallas, GA makes a Great 52" Takedown Recurve. Its called the Evolution.

I've seen several mentions about JD Lunds bows. I have the prototype #1 Whisperstik Boomslang 52" recurve and draw close to 29" and it is smooth and shoots quik and puts them where you look.

I don't know if hehas them on his sight yet but it is a fantasic short recurve. It has more of a palm swell longbow handle and since I am a longbow man this bow is awsome for me. I wanted a good shooting short recurve and this one will stay.

I started with a short recurve in 71'. Bear Super Kodiak Magnum 48" 64#@ 28. Almost lost interest cause I could never find all my arrows when shooting cause I would miss the target. Fast forward to 96/97. Came into contact with a Herters "Perfection" 46" 42#@28. This is a really sweet, short smooth shooter. I found with my fingers (fat) that I had to switch to a Damacus glove instead of the HH three finger. I have other recurves but these two are the only ones in the 40 inch catagory.

I haven't tried them all, but when your draw length is at 30" disappointment is the norm when you go to short bows.

Recently picked up a Cascade Night Hawk Magnum, 52", 65# @ 30", Camo Dipped by Big Jim.  Super smooth out to my draw, quick enough, still trying to quiet it down but would probably be there already... Just not as quiet as my longbows...

Thinking about painting the quiver flat black but wouldn't be necessary...
