I ordered the MFX test kit from 3 rivers along with some 100 grain inserts.

I figure that way I can get something with alot of weight up front and make it work.

I have the test kit for the points too and weight tubes so I should be able to get 'er done

Jason try a 35/65 Carbon Tech Rhino. At your length and with the insert/point will be about 500gr. They are a .500 spine range or just a tad stiffer. I have been using them for a few years in bows ranging from 50-56# @ my 29 in draw, but shoot them at 30 " with std insert and 145gr heads.

30coupe

CT 35/65 Rhino's are 9.5 grains per inch, so they won't make quite 500 grains at 29.5 or 30 inches.

9.5 x 30 = 282 + 145 grain head + 15 grain nock + 30 grains fletching = 475

475/52 = 9.1 gpp

That would probably work for Jason. I like them a little heavier overall, but I'd rather have the weight up front.

The main drawback to the CT's is the cost ($125/12 shafts).

Just to add fuel to the fire here, I shoot MFX 400's at 29.75" with 200 gr points or BH's from my 52# Whispertik. Weight = 540gr. I add 3 lengths of snipper line to bring it up to 600gr. I used the standard HIT inserts as I didn't have any brass to fit. They fly for me and that's what matters.

30coupe, you forgot the point insert thats another 15 or 20 gr, so it will be close to 500gr total.

Jason,

I am shooting CX Terminator Select 4560"s with a 100 grain brass insert and 125 grain tips. The length is 30", note that the brass adaptors add 1/4 inch, but the 30" has that figured in. These arrows seem to work well for me at my 28" draw using high performance bows that are 52 to 54 pounds. My total arrow weight is 527 grains. These flew well out of a Kabekona, Centaur, Morrison Dakota, Big East recurve, and a Bob Lee recurve, all in the 52 to 55 pound range. I have a Kanati coming to me that is 52 @ 28", I'll let you know how it goes when I get it.

I've got a set of the CX Rebel Hunter 4560's, and have found the same results - but the weight difference (and cost, depending on where you get them) is quite remarkable.

DOH!  I thought you were using the Terminator Lites...

Anywho:

Terminator Lites: 8.2gpi
Terminator XP: 9.9gpi
Rebel Hunter: 10.6gpi
CX Heritage (.400spine): 11.0gpi

To keep it in perspective, the Easton FMJ series doesn't even break into the 10gpi, for a whole lot more money...        :D
