Thanks and if you are ever in the Cheyenne area look me up. I am in the midst of making more for Antelope season that starts in 4wks.

I have two big trash bags full of secondary turkey feathers, before I waist my time grinding are they going to be ok to use? They are all barred just not have high oil lines.Frank

Jack Skinner

They can be used for smaller fletch, but they will not be as durable as primaries. Probably not a big deal if using carbon/alum because they are easier to strip and refletch.

Don Stokes

Defiant, the secondaries I have used have all been noisy in flight, otherwise fine. I wouldn't use them for hunting arrows, but they're great for practice if you don't mind the noise. Also, a jake's primaries are noisy, too. The primaries need to come from a mature bird.

Thanks guys,I will stick to the primaries just too much work for noisy and weak flight.Frank

I've seen arrows crested with snake skin before but how is it done properly?
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid-in-sideways, totally worn out, shouting, Holy #@%*, What a ride!

You make a beautifull arrow Mr. Kidner!
