Arrowslinger,
You mount the head the same way as a stone point.  I cut a slot with my bandsaw (you can do it by hand) to slide the tang of the point in.  Then you'd epoxy and wrap (dental floss, sinew, etc) around the slot to bind everything together.

I once had had a compound shooter Robin hood a self nock that was wrapped the same way.  The wrap kept the compound arrow from splitting my arrow.  It only mushroomed the self nock.  I was pretty impressed with the strength that wrap gave to the wood arrow...Doc

Looks great but isn't it technically a barbed head, which are illegal in many states?

Sorry just curious,

Beautiful work you do. I'd love to see and learn more about it. I'm fairly new around here where can i find more of  your work?

Mark, I was wondering when someone would catch that!  It's just barely barbed...very easy to change wing angles pending where it is used.  I left as much steel to see what my final weight would come out to.  We looked hard at the regs in Quebec last year to make sure some of our stone points were legal too...Doc

Absolutely beautiful!  Why don't you bring some of the broadheads you have made to the PBS banquet.  I, and I'm sure many others, would like to see them.

Don't accept your dog's admiration as conclusive evidence that you are wonderful.

Looks like I got to forge up at least another one!  I normally shoot LW feathers...But when I looked at Ted's arrow today, I realized it was Right Wing feathers

It's funny as I kept telling myself over & over...get the correct bevel on the edge   :knothead:  Doc
