I decided she needed a little more color if she were going to grace one of Ted's arrows.

I mounted her with dental floss just to see how well she spun...perfect.  Last summer I had picked up a 1/2 dozen Raptor arrows on the blanket.  I couldn't believe my luck in finding my friend's perfect footed arrows    What's even funnier, there was a broken shaft at the TX Sweat that Ted had used on his bowyer hunt...same arrow!  Gotta be some mojo there...I hope    Doc

Buckhammer

Beautiful head Doc.     How did you get the color?

tippit

Buckhammer,
Those are just tempering colors.  She'll lose those when the action gets heavy  :)

I remember your excitement when you found those arrows, Doc. I remember you saying "It'll take just the right point to finish them off". I'd say you "found" the right point. Very nice my friend!

tippit

owlbait, I use a three arrow bow quiver bear hunting.  Right now this forged head and Woody's knife river flint head will be in my quiver, unless I can get Woody to knap me a Green head to match my arrows   ;)  One needs to be color coordinated in the bear woods!  Doc

Jeff,

Neat head, my friend. I have your head you sent me in my quiver....just waiting for the right piggie to come along.

"kennym, I normally shoot 200-235 grain up front. I'll have to see how it flyes. But for Bears, they will usually be close and drop off shouldn't be a big problem. The extra punch should be worth it."

Jeff, hope you didn't take that wrong. I love close shots,I meant it would penetrate like crazy!!  Should have said just that!  :knothead:

Please tell us how it works when you get to use it!!
Stay sharp, Kenny.
