My brother-law had the same thing happen to him. I bought him a recurve, and he says it was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Keep shooting, it will keep you strong.

Shoot what you can, main thing is your health getting better !

It's kinda funny how a life-threatening event can point out your priorities for ya, isn't it? I'm sorry for your troubles, but glad to hear that at least one good thing has come from it...you beat a demon (tobacco) that millions of people never will.

I pray for a full and speedy recovery for you!

God speed with your recovery, David.  I know where there might be some lightweight loaner bows to help get you back to 60 lb.  What's your draw length?  How much weight do you think you can handle?
Thanks for the offer of a loaner. Got a 48@28 coming tues.

Thats great, Davey.

Gotta be careful with the kidneys-they'll kill you quick.  I pray your recovery is rapid.

For those who don't deal with kidney issues every day, that 40 pounds was probably at least half muscle.  It poisons those muscles as well-in some cases doing permanent damage.  I know because my kidneys teeter on the edge all the time.  I hope you get back over sixty-just take it slow.  I know kidney failure all too well.

Best of luck. Praying for complete restoration!

Big fight with the smokes, but you can do it stay the course, good luck.

That's what is weird, no fight at all. Lost all desire to smoke the day I was admitted. Been smoke free for about 42 days now.

Hang on to those bows. God can make you have a full recovery. You will be jumping creeks, leaping fences, running through the woods and shooting those bows before you know it. Have faith.

David,

Prayers for your full recovery.  Focus on what is healthy, and happy for you.  Regroup, get some lighter weight bows you can handle shooting for this recovery time.  Low to no sodium!

My father was a hero and a fighter pilot.  He was in perfect health...except that he smoked for much of his life.  Cigarettes killed him almost a year ago.  If you smoke....stop.  TODAY.  DaveyCrocket, I'm glad you quit, best of luck with your health and your draw weight.
Live every day like its your last, one day you'll be right.

Good luck with a full recovery Brother. I'll send you a 43# A&H if you want to borrow it for a while.
