Shinken

1)  Calling - elk, coyotes, fox, turkey, geese, ducks, moose (if I could draw a tag)

2)  Spot & stalk - mule deer, bighorn sheep (if I could draw a tag), mountain goat (ditto)

3)  Stillhunting - small game and anything else that is movin' in the woods or fields....

4) Ambush - on water hole or walllow or seep...if the conditions dictate the method....

5) Bucket list hunt:  mountain lion with dogs....

Huntin' from a tree stand has never been in my vocabulary....

Spot and stalk.

For me glassing or spotting a critter in the distance then plotting and excuting the stalk is where the rush is for me.

I honestly do not know how people can sit in a blind or stand all day - wish I had the patience as you can't agrue with the results.

I love spot and stalk but it can be tough down here.  I primarily use a ground blind with treestand in third.

cahaba

Ground blind provided by nature. I can't climb anymore or I would use a treestand when conditions dictated it.

doubleo

Tree stand for whitetails. Pop up blind or spot and stalk for turkeys.

I hunt the way the area allows..... I especially try not to get hung up on treestands. Too many good spots have no trees

Mostly tree stands but also am using ground blinds quite a bit. I don't care much for pop-up blinds, my 68" bow is hard to handle in one. I have diligently studied Asbell's writings on stalking/walking quietly but just don't seem to be able to pull it off. I sound like an elephant walking through corn flakes on my most quiet day.I really envy you guys who are not noisy when you walk.

If I can't bugle in a bull elk, then spot and stalk is a close second.
