Chuck_Delsandro

I shot one a few years back and now I'm hooked. I got other bows but they are just gathering dust.

When ever things like that happen to me I just remember the monstrocity bows Widow unleached on us in the late 70's , metal riser with 5 inch overdraw and metal riser with forward handle ,to terrible to talk about often - shudder and go on my own dumb way  !

Jacko, mate, that was 30 years ago! They aren't like that nowadays. The ones I've tried handle nice and hit the animals hard!

So I too can be a tack driver for the low price of  :scared:  Umm being a tack driver may be a little out of my price range.  :)

I recently had to sell off a lot of my bows to drop down in weight.  One that really really hurt was my Widow take down longbow, though I did get it placed in a really good home... made a happy camper out at Moses Lake.   I replaced my heavies with new lights... got a light Hill, Pronghorn, Treadway, Moosejaw, Bear... but no new Widow.    I had just about talked myself out of it with the cost, but...  Then this sweet looking little PTF recurve in Autumn oak and birch popped up on the list while I was traveling and working with a borrowed computer.  It was tough getting the messages and pix back and forth, but it's happening.  I need to get a check out today, but soon I'll have one of those sexy little Widow recurves.    I had told myself it'd be fun to try one after the longbow.   So, Raineman... I understand and hope you find your way to the MA you want.

Ben I remember how bad they where that long ago simply so I can have the funds to retire , otherwise I would own 50 thousand dollar plus bows and not have the cash for arrows

TRAP

If you buy one, I'll send you a narrow little feather rest for it.  The one I owned had a pretty narrow shelf if I recall.  I'm thinking 4 fletch with a really low profile would look great on there.

Let me know when you throw the money out there and I'll have one for you  :bigsmyl:

That 53# er on that auction site is tempting me.  But know nothing about that design.  Hand shock, cut to center etc.  Can someone fill me in quick?  Or maybe someone here is already bidding?  Hehhehhee

mooseman76

What 53#er bowdude?  I checked and didn't see one there?

bowdude

Uhmm..  The one I bought.  53# PTF in autumn oak.

Dick,  we get to compare notes in a few weeks.

mooseman76

The PTF is cut 3/16" past center.  There is no handshock.  That model bow shoots great and has some very sexy lines.  It is based on and uses the same limb forms as the PSA takedown.  Just really slimmed down and lighter in the hand.  That said, I do shoot the heavier PSA better.  Check this one out, that I foolishly sold...Mike

Oh, man... you guys have really got me excited about getting this one... I'll have to post some shooting impressiions and pix when it gets here...

No Daryl, spent most of the weekend at my tailgate playing with strings. Got 4 bows off the blanket, but no Widow. Gonna be doing some "horse trading" here, and parting with some nice vintage stuff, in preparation to pull the trigger on something at Denton Hill. Who knows what I'll find along the way  :D
