Steve,

I sent Brian an email and he responded back that he still has some Carpathian Elm Burl in stock.  I responded back and told him that's what I want him to use on my bow, if what he has in stock would look anything close to the veneers on your bow.

Thanks once again!

Bill you are going to be one happy camper.  Brian won't disappoint you.  I have those veneers on my bow, looks amazing and shoots lights out.  Now the dreaded wait.   :campfire:

David,

I agree that Waterfall Bubinga would look great, but, I'm actually looking for something that would match up with the Walnut Dymondwood and contrast with the Rosewood Dymondwood.  That's why I chose the Carpathian Elm Burl, that plus it is one outrageous looking veneer and affords a natural camo appearance to boot.

I didn't see the pic before I responded to your post.  Is that Red Rat Snake skin?  Or is that Waterfall Bubinga on your limbs?

Dirtybird,

Thanks for the feedback.  I don't look upon it as a dreaded wait.  I've waited up to 14 months for other bows and if I ordered some of the other bows that are out there it could be closer to two years.  I'll just greatly anticipate seeing the new TT while patiently waiting for it to be built!  :)

What kind of strings does Brian ship with his bows?  Specifically, what string material?

Below are some pics of the riser wood I've ordered for my Tall Tines T/D recurve, with the exception that the center accent stripe will be Walnut Dymondwood instead of Bocote, and two pics of the Carpathian Elm Burl on Steve O's TT T/D Recurve as samples of what I've ordered for veneers on my TT T/D Recurve.  also, please note that my riser will be RH.

Bill, Brian uses SBD strings on his bows.  I like the combo can't wait to see the final product myself.

Yes Brian has SBD string as a standard. The bow I received had a too short string anyway that made impossible to achieve the 7 1/2" brace that Brian advises.I know that Steve O had the same problem.I hope this problem is been resolved.

Should be a beautiful selection.

Will not be as anxious as you are, however I do look forward to seeing pics of your bow.

I've bought SBD strings and never had a problem with them being too short.  Of course, I specified the string length I wanted and received exactly the lengths ordered.

On the other hand, there's a relatively new Sponsor who is also a string builder.  I ordered a couple of strings from him on another board.  The first string he built for me was over an inch shorter than I requested.  It gave me a 9 inch BH on a bow that needed 7.5-8".  I mailed the string back to him and be built another one and mailed it to me. It was an inch short.  I still couldn't get below the maximum recommended BH of 8".  I just threw it in the trash and didn't bother communicating with him again.

I've gotten outstanding service and strings from SBD and Oliver Stacy.

OliverStacy makes AWESOME strings.  I put them on my TTs as soon as I get one in.
