I've ordered a Tall Tines T/D recurve with a Rosewood  Dymondwood riser and a Walnut Dymondwood center accent.  I'm trying to determine what veneers to have Brian put on the limbs over the Actionboo cores.

I've looked at and like the Waterfall Bubinga veneers in Pic #12 and  the Black Limba veneers in Pic #5 of the Sample Wood Options on the Tall Tines website.  I also like the Olive Ash Burl limbs on bow #8 in Stock Bows on the website.

Any suggestions?  I may just have Brian surprise me as I would be happy with any of these veneers.

I'm thinking Juniper might look pretty good, too.

Bill,

After four TallTines, I realize the absolute best way to go about what you are going about is to let Brian know what "look" you are going for and have him let you know what he has in stock that will look good.  You can get all kinds of advice here and it is not going to do a lick of good...woods vary soooooooooo much in color and grain.  He has never been off on a recommendation to me.  For your red riser I suggested the elm burl because I have that combo and the bubinga because I know what the veneers he has look like and I have a set sitting on his rack for a future bow.  Do yourself a favor and put it in the pro's hands

Steve O,

I'm awaiting some sample pics from Brian of three different veneers he has in stock.  My initial reaction was Waterfall Bubinga.  I'll probably go with that or Olive Ash Burl veneers.  Do you have pics posted of your TT with the elm burl veneers?

Bjorn,

Thanks!

I'll second the carpathian elm burl.  Sure is pretty stuff on my TT.  I did just order an olive ash burl though.   :bigsmyl:

Myrtle, red elm with a nice grain, olive ash burl, tamo ash or juniper. I can't even decide for myself.   :D

If it were me I think I'd go with olive ash, juniper, osage or my new favorite, yew...Mike

Stained Tamo Ash may be a worthy consideration.

Sappelle. My spelling could be close. Flame madrone is interesting, not too busy, and might look good too.

Steve O,

Thanks for the link to the pics of the Carpathian Elm Burl limb veneers on your TT.  They make for a great natural Camo.
