Recently I've been looking at Bob's old longbow. These were made back in the 80's. After talking with Bob he told me that his Classic longbow came after the 80's longbow. He's sending me one he had lying around to play with. Would like to see some pics and opinions(PM please) on the Classic longbow. Bob said they stopped production of this bow about 5 years ago. It was before the Cougar I believe. Lets see em. Thanks.

If I cna get home while the sun is still shining I will take some better pics.  It has canebrake skins and birdseye maple overlays on the back and antler tips.

Real quiet and fast bow. Very light in the hand but has a solid feel to it at full draw. Braced profile was somewhere between R/D and hybrid IMO.

Surprised there are not more of these out there.  They seemed to be quite popular once upon a time!

Leatherneck, I finally got some better pics of the 1980's Morrison longbow...Bob's Classics are real beauties too. He is an amazing boyer and good guy to buy from.

I just got the classic in that Bob had lying around. Although it's about 5# heavier than I shoot, it shot very,very,nice. Bob said I might expect a little shock in the handle but I'd like to know where. Absolutely none! I only shot a 600gr. arrow out of it too. I have a Dakota w/foam and carbon and this bow shot just as nice as it. Not sure why Bob stopped making these but they are real sweet shooters. I love the grip on this one! I'll post some pics tomorrow. This one would be staying here if it were lighter. 65@28 is a little tough on my shoulder. Bob better get the dust off the forms.

This is just for me to test out. I wish it was lighter and it would be mine. I knew it was too heavy before Bob sent it. I just wanted to shoot the classic to see how it shot. I'm really impressed and I cant believe how I love this grip. Maybe I'm just a sucker for Morrisons.  

I'm curious as to what lengths the Classic was available in and how many Bob sold of the original and the Classic longbows.

Well heres a few pics of the bow Bob sent me. I can only shoot about a bakers dozen before my shoulder starts to hurt. Got a shoulder issue right now. Anyhow, I promised some pics so here goes. It's a shame this one will be going back to Bob. And it has a great price on it. The specs are 64" 65@28,western rattler skins,boo cores. Here it is:

Wow Mike, that is a real beauty. It is a shame the poundage is too high for you. You are certainly doing the right thing by not putting a load on that shoulder for now.

I'm still surprised we haven't heard any word from anyone owning the 80s Morrison longbows. May not be many left.

Not a Morrison bow, but Morrison skin work. This guy is the master with eastern diamondback.

Now 650 for the bow with snakeskins and Bob would want between 200 and 250 for the skins, so the bow is 400 to 450. Now that becomes a very good used bow price for a new bow with warranty and known history.

Too heavy for these tired old shoulders too or I would have another set of Morrison skins.

I agree. It's a steal for someone who wants a Morrison. Bob had this one lying around and when I called him about those bows he was probably in awh. I told Bob that if I can't find one out there then he better pull those forms out.    He sounded more than happy to do it too!
