I tend to pay a bit more for my hunting clothes and they last me longer. I used to get whatever was cheapest (because that's all I could wring outta my budget), and they tended to wear out. Pays yo money, takes you choice!

I understand that some will never be willing to pay for quality clothing when they can go to Walmart and buy a twenty dollar pair of pants.

Same as a guy that buys a $50 pair of bino's then looks thru a $1000 pair of Leica's and says he can't see the difference...

For guys that appreciate the highest quality materials, research, and manufacturing in hunting clothing industy...
The guys that have gone the cheapest route, then realized thru trial and error, there is something better out there...

You are the one's that will appreciate this clothing, and everything Jason has done to bring it to us at such a reasonable price!    

I'm not trying to say that these Kuiu britches aren't good. They are probably great, however, the price tag sort of reminds me of looking at the shelves full of Bass fishing gear at Cabela's. Half of the stuff is gimmicky and overpriced, overhyped in an attempt to reel in the fishermen.

These Carhartt garments are only as quiet as the hunter wearing them. If silence is the absolute goal, I like to use wool---even in the warm months. Or a kilt and knee-high moccasins, of course.  http://www.needlepimp.com/

If you could prioritize all of your gear and the impact it has on having a good hunt (let's assume mountain hunting of at least a week's duration because that is what Kuiu was made for) we would all most likely put our clothing towards the top of that list, because if we're wet, cold, sweaty, hot or anywhere outside of that miniscule space we modern day softies call a comfort zone, we're not happy.  Our beautiful custom bows costing hundreds of dollars would actually fall somewhere nearer the bottom of the list.  So I think it stands to reason that money spent on quality clothes is money well spent, and if I can drop $850 on my new bow, I can spend $140 on pants.  I'm going with Kuiu.

Softshell is something ya'll should try on at some point in time.  I wish the army would switch to it for some of the items.  It lasts longer, stays warmer, breaths better, is more quiet then our nyco uniforms.  It's not water proof so don't compare apples to oranges, but it is water resistant.

Also when you look at this gear you have to compare it to other high quality hunting gear.  Sitka, Gray Wolf Woolens or if you would rather compare a Samick Hawkeye to a BlackWidow PMA 3.  It's all relative to what it's competing market is.  These are a high quality, somewhat high tech modern fiber.  Similar softshell products I've seen run around $300-400 for a pair of trousers and those aren't even designed for hunting.

I do believe when I get the money I will buy a set.  Got to plan on getting over to at least Bulgaria or the Romanian Carpathians while I'm a poor soldier stationed in Germany.

Way too much $ for this guy. I've killed a bunch of game wearing $30 Carharts, and I think I'll stick with them. I doubt $250 pants will make you a better hunter. JMO
