Friend

Was just reviewing my notes from last turkey season and discovered that I am not yet prepared. My squeaky seat spooked birds on at least two occasions that were developing into very possible shot opportunities.

It is normal for me to stay in the blind 5-6 hrs at a time, ~10 hrs total for a day and sometimes the complete day. I used to use folding stools, then the original DB chair and then migrated to a folding hunting lounge-type chair. The original DB chair was very hard on the bottom and would make me quite sore. The folding hunter lounge-type chair was by far the most comfortable and has permitted many a nap. While I have lubricated the joints regularly, this chair still finds a way to squeak in a hunting situation.

What blind hunting chair have you the most confidence in, remains quiet, provides adequate support, enhanced sit time, mobile and will still permit a nap every now and then?

I love the Director style chair by Bone Collector. Cost is low compared to many others, last awhile, quite, lightweight.

Sitting in a blind for extended periods, Huntmore 360. I don't like to carry it and set it up, but for a blind it is all day comfortable, silent, and swivels. The legs adjust for height and the big feet work in varied soil conditions. Kustom King has the new, improved model in stock, according to their last ad. Good luck!

Waldrop all the way. You will forget about what you paid for it the first time you hunt out of it. Very well built and functional seat.

I have both the 360 and the Pacseat, each one has it's place. For a long sit like your talking about....5 to 6 hrs and sometimes the whole day, my choice would be the 360 especially if your in a pop-up blind. Like owlbait said, it swivels, the leg height is adjustable and it has the duck feet for soft ground...it's better for a long sit!
If your on the move, walking in for a mile or more and need something lighter, then my choice would be the Pacseat.
It's up to you and your style of hunting, that's why I've got both.

What is "new and improved" on the newer model ?

After being frustrated with buying stools, chairs, slings, etc.., I decided to make my own. I made two double 90 bends on 1" galvanized conduit, so you wind up with a "U".  I made the width of one shorter so that when folded, the legs would fit slightly inside each other.  I made the seat out of 3/4 birch plywood, 12" by 12", 2 of them, as there is a lazy susan swivel between them.  To the bottom, I attached two pieces of kindorf.  The "U" bends will be secured to the kindorf with 1" conduit straps.  Glue on a piece of closed cell foam, and there you go.  It is heavy, but once set up, it is comfy, sturdy, and quiet.

For mobility, I use a wedge style seat, most commonly used for turkey hunting.  The wedge is about 3" thick, with a back attached to it via side straps.  You can plop it on the ground, on a log, on a rock, or even on a hillside and be very comfortable for a long period of time.

The original style folding chair without the arms, wally world for around $5.  comes with a bag, fits easily in most double bull style carry bags.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Guys...Thank you for the wonderful leads.

Hunting considerably more comfortable and silent should increase my odds.

Thank you brothers and sisters!!!

The double bull magnum seat has been my choice for the last few years. It's very comfortable but I wish it were lighter.

I thought the pacseat was too low to the ground for use in a blind??

I am not familar with the Waldrop Pacseat.  Who handles it?

One of our sponsors, G Fred Asbell.

PS: Medicineman... I never had a problem with it in my double Bull blind.
