I got this one done today, I worked on it here and there over the last few weeks, it's made from left over scraps, and the riser is a piece of a busted wheel barrow handle, not sure what type wood, maybe ipe or iron wood, it wasn't hickory like most tool handles are.  Anyhow I painted it with black bedlinner, and gave it a camo effect with gray spray paint.  It's 60" long 51 @ 28".   I've shot it a bunch this afternoon when I got done working and I really like it.

Killdeer

I was a horseman for ten years. The wheelbarrow handle appeals to me!

And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Cool! If you like the way it shoots then by all means shoot it. I think it's great that you made a fine bow from wood that would otherwise be scrapped.

Looks like it must be shooting pretty decent too!

Mike Mecredy

Yes it's M.U.T.T. styled to the extreme, infact the upper limb on the belly side had half of the limb clear and the other half black. the lower limb on the belly was all brown, and the back is two 1/2 inch wide pieces of black glass.  Ash laminations.

Nice job Mike, waste not want not my grandma always used to say.   :D

Actually, my favorite bow to shoot at the moment was made from an ugly, nasty, twisty, knotty Osage stave that I was absolutely certain that I could not sell. It was just daring me to make a bow out of it, so I set out on a mission to do just that.

I figured that if I could make a good shootable bow out of this stave, all the rest would be a piece of cake.

Now some 500 shots or so later, it's an absolute joy to shoot. It hits right where I'm looking and very accurate. It's only 40# @28" but a pleasure to shoot. I've even been offered money for it, but I can't bear to turn loose of it.

Sometimes when we take a chance on the unexpected, the wood just has a way of suprizing us. Great job man, I really like the camo job!

Actually every bow I made for myself in the past somebody liked it and ended up buying it off me, after twisting my arm.  I figure this one's so rough looking nobody will want it.

As soon as I read about the bed liner I was thinking you had mixed glass under there.

Seems like a great idea for a hunting bow!

Far from ugly and will grow even more appealing with the game that has been duped.
