I have a 2-pc bow bolt one that I use for blinds and small game in thick brush. I love mine.

Sally's 47# at 29" and is probably at the max draw it can handle.

She slings an arrow pretty quick and for a recurve with just a couple puff silencers is pretty darn quiet (of course his whip is just about the quietest bow I've shot and I've tried a couple dozen types - yes a bowaholic am I)

I find she is extremely versatile. And despite the short length she handles it fine with out any finger issues.

I've also got a 60" Whip. To be honest, as much as I love the Whip, I think I love the short recurve better. It's quick, quiet, and the maneuverability is fantastic.

I'm in the short bow hunt and another thread here said to look at the 52" Toelke. The April/May 2009 issue of Trad Bowhunter has an interview with Dan Toelke and it sounds like a lot goes into his bows. There's a beauty pictured on his home page. Sponsor here too.

I called Dan and he said there's no pinch out to 30". He said he draws his at 29.5" and the design is such that it's no issue.

Being Dan, I trusst him.

How do they rate quiet wise, compared to say the Chinook or or other recurves?

Really thought hard about getting one myself, still thinking about it but.....would like to see some full draw pics myself.

I reviewed a 52"Toelke RC a while back, and it is a very nice bow to shoot.No complaints with it at all.The review is in my Trad review section.

I have a Classic Whip and a Chinook already and had a regular Whip. I actually like the Classic Whip better.
But pound for pound, dollar for dollar, one could argue that there's no better bow than a Toelke.

I was at Dan's this past Fall and had the opportunity to shoot a couple of his 52" recurves including the Osage/Bocote bow that is on his website. In short the little bows are pure Toelke, beautiful woods painstakingly crafted, smooth at my 29" draw, very fast even with a B50 string and more importantly to me very quiet. My other experience with 52" bows has been a few older name brand factory bows, none of which impressed me. Luckily, I do not need a 52" recurve but I still find myself still fighting the urge to have Dan make me one of his.

Is it the one with zebrawood limbs?  I bought the matching 40# right after Christmas. Let us know what you think. I'm impressed with mine...I'm not as trad-expereienced as a lot of guys on here, though.

JW, I appreciate the quietness comment. That is very important to me as well. Most bows can probably be worked to quieter, but when they start out that way - very good.
I'm looking at the new Bear KMag Anniversary edition, and wonder about a lot of things. Dan sounds like he's paying attention to the "little things".
