A few weeks back lpcjon2 (Tim Jones) and his son Tucker wanted to pass along Tucker's Mad Dog Pup longbow that he had outgrown. I put my Grandson's name (Jordan) in for a chance and he was the lucky winner.

The bow arrived on Tuesday of this past week, but with it raining all week.......he didn't have the opportunity to shoot it until yesterday. And SHOOT it he did.....probably for about 45 minutes he shot with very little assistance from me. He had an absolute blast with this bow and I want to publicly thank both Tim and Tucker for their generosity. Heck, they threw in about 8 arrows and a real nice little clip on quiver (you can see in the pics).

We have plans to take both Jordan and his sister (Aaralyn) up to Comptons with us this year and he vows to be ready for those dinosaur targets that they have. His sister will have a "very special" bow to take with her to shoot, but I'll post more about that later. To say that they are "looking forward" to going to Comptons with us would be a vast understatement. They are STOKED.......so with each of them having their very own bows to go "dinosaur hunting" with perhaps someone should warn those Michigan dinosaurs in advance.

I'll let the pictures of Jordan speak for themselves.......Oh, and I am currently unable to shoot...BUT....I am one proud Pa-Paw.

Thank-You again......Tim and Tucker !!!!

A few more........it seems that he can't decide which is "more comfortable".....split-finger or three-under. He'll figure it out.

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

Wonderful love the pics of kids shooting bows.  Thank you for sharing.  Dinosaurs be ware.

'Careful with the little ones, my four year old grandson put an arrow on top of our neighbors house the faster than I could stop him with his Maddog R/d model. With the heavier Tim Miegs, it is HTM tipped arrows only.  I forgot how fast a kid can be and how far those little bows shoot.  His mom, my daughter, and my son were more concerned about hitting the balloons their first time out with new bows.  My grandson lives on an acreage and likes to watch arrows high in the air.  So do I.

Way to bring along the next generations, looks like a fun time. Hope the shoulder is doing good and best of luck with the recovery.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

"instinctive archery" is more like playing the violin. Without practice you may remember the mechanics, but you will not be a virtuoso.

It's good to see those getting passed on.  Those bows given away by the vermonster 13 Youth bow program are meant to be sent to those that can use them and not to collect dust once the kid that recieved tham out grows them.  So it's good to see the program blossom.  Thanks for the pictures.

Yes sir, everyone who enters the drawings agrees to pass them on like this. Glad to see it working. Hope he enjoys the heck out of that bow.
