%75 of the time i wear wool pants, i can not seem to find any decent non-camo, light weight hunting pants, any suggestions?

Good question, I too would like to find some lighweight wool trousers for early season hunts.

Cabelas Whipcord pants are awesome early season wool pants for us wool nuts. They are light weight washable, look nice enough to wear out in town and can handle the rigors we put them through.

I haven't tried them yet, but Duluth trading company has some great reviews on their pants. They are reasonably priced as well. I may pick up a set this year for some summer stumping/hunting/working pants.

Hey Ken-try 'sportsman guide' under the military surplus. There are some good used ones there that are reasonably priced! Good luck.

I bought some light wool dress pants in drab colors off that aution site for a few bucks a pair.

Go to military surplus internet sites (Coleman military surplus)They have tons of different types of wool pants and other types of clothes to.

I have one pair of LL Bean pants, the ones with the leather trimmed pockets, left.  They are great.  I do not know if they still make them or if they do that the new ones would be as good as the old ones.

For hiking and early season hunting I will wear a pair of brushed nylon convertible pants from Eastern Mountain Sports or REI in a loden or tan color. They will not be as quiet as wool or microtex but will dry quickly and won't kill you as cotton does when wet. These will give you the option of shorts when the temps rise (zip-off legs) and have a great 6-8 pocket layout.

I wear Carhart carpenter pants in green,tan,or brown.

Carhartt and Duluth canvas duck pants are also available with either a blanket lining or poly insulation lining.  Both are very tough and warm.  There also double chap pants that are nearly indectructible.  Filson wool pants/bibs are great, but pricey.

I got two pair of olive drab large long military surplus recently that are a lighter weight than the German Military field pants that I wear second season here in Pa.  They are just right for the weather we're having now.  And only $9.00 ea.  Can't beat em!

Wrangler carpenter pants $20 at Walmart. Very comfortable and tough.

I've been wearing some olive colored hiking pants by Columbia that are pretty good.

I'd like to try a pair of the First Lite Gila pants, wish they came in a tan or grey.  Always keeping an eye out for filsons, hard to find in a 30 inch waist

A pair of old worn black denim Levi's are mighty comfortable, Brother!!!

I would suggest Salvation Army of some other thrift store.  Many of the older suits are wool and those pants end up there.

For warmer weather I would suggest levis.

2 pretty decent muleys I've killed doing spot and stalk were taken wearing levis.
