So part of my switch to Trad this year also came along with one of those years when it's time to upgrade other equipment. I've bought some wool, some new rain gear, socks, all kinds of accessories but I'm now down to the most important part, Boots! I have a pair of late season boots for extreme cold but what I need is a pair of general use boots. I don't do much still hunting mainly stand but do scout a lot during moose season. I like the tall boots for Irish Setter, I'm thinking the Outrider 1000. Anyone have any experience with these boots?

I had Irish Setters for over 20 years. Loved them. Now I have Danners. Great boots & hold up nice to my size 13 hunt/stumpin olympics.

Trad is 60% mental & about 40% mental.

I only hunt for whitetails and tukeys, but for what it's worth, been using the same knee high rubber lacrosse burly 800s for 13 years now.

Irish Setters are great boots and you won't go wrong with them. However, I (including G. Fred Asbel) really like the Bean Hunting shoe. Rubber bottoms for no scent trail and leather tops. Waterproof too.
