I've been waiting on the phone call since November, and it came today.  Jim Reynolds from Thunderstick archery called and said my new bow, (Thunderstick III), would be ready next week.  I'll finally be able to call myself a traditional archer.

I've also got a new mountain cur pup coming in a few weeks, so most of my summer will be in the woods working with the pup, and now bending arrows with the bow, the pup will be learning to tree squirrels, and I'll be learning to hit one with my new bow.  Gonna be fun.

Sounds like fun, Congrats on both.

Congratulations and welcome to traditional archery! You have made a great choice for your first trad bow. They are nice shooters. Good luck!

Fantastic!

Is your pup OMCBA?

Bloodlines?

I spent a few years campaigning my dogs. I have been blessed with one of the top dogs in the country.(http://www.angelfire.com/mo3/muddykennels/index.html) This isn't an ad for my dogs as I don't raise, train and sell them any more.

Bowhunting squirrels and coon behind a good Mountain Cur is very rewarding.

God bless,Mudd

Mudd, this pup is actually a Stephens Cur.  I've always wanted to try one and see how they do.  I've always hunted the Kemmers, and am actually on the KSBA board of directors, until April, when my term runs out.  I don't keep many dogs, I have a finished 4 year old male Kemmer, that will tree them near or far, and he will be my go to dog as long as he is alive.  The Stephens is just an itch I need to scratch, I've heard they have a great cold tracking nose, and I love that for the coon hunting, along with a nice mouth on track, my Kemmers have all been silent so I don't get to enjoy a summer race in the cornfields.

Im actually waiting for a bow myself. Also waiting for a quiver I ordered to be delivered. I know how you feel.

How far are you from Gilette Wyoming?

I hunted out there a few years back with Merv Griswald, and he has some really nice bred Kemmer Stock Mountain Curs, though he doesn't use his on tree game, but as coyote decoy dogs.

I rarely raise a litter, but if you are still interested the next time I do, you'll be welcome to a pup, it would only cost you the shipping to get it to you.
