I just got some Zwickey Deltas 4 blade 125gr from a trade with superK and mounted them onto some Surewoods. Well I have to say They fly like bullets! on my second round I shot all three arrows into 50 cent piece group completely shaving the feathers off of one shaft, I am amazed at how well they fly. My ? is How well do they penetrate on deer. I shoot a 70# Hill Tembo on a full length shaft. My target is kinds holey and it's hard to test penetration on the swiss cheese target.

they are great heads that have been around for a long while.  Ask Terry G.  I wouldn't be afraid to use them with any bow I own.

Actually Zwickey deltas are 135gr, the eskimos are 125gr!

Bowmag

Anything I have shot with a Delta fell within sight. And none were shot with more than a 60# bow. I think they are great heads.

Tim,
A few years ago I shot a buck with a Delta two blade and I was pulling a 50# Lone wolf autumn Storm but really only drew it to about 27" so actually didn't make the 50#..I shot that deer on the ground at 5 yards so this was a close shot...The arrow went through the rib cage and 3/4 the way out the other side from what I could see as he bolted...He went to jump a big dead fall and I saw the arrow pop out out his right side and as it popped out I actually could see the arrow wasn't broke in any way...This was a Port Orford cedar arrow I made and tapered from a 23/64 down to a 5/16th...I was amazed it went through the ribcage and didn't break...I just showed that arrow to my brother last night and the bubbles from the lung hit are still visiable where it dried on the arrow...He couldn't believe that Zwicky Delta could do that damage and come through and still be sharp...I love those heads and they have been around a lonnnnng time...Keefer's <><

I have the Delta 2 blade. I used Grizzly's on deer with great results and this year I will using the Zwickey's on deer. I read ALOT of threads on the subject ( use the search feature) and it was all positive. Zwickeys have a proven track record and have been around a long time.

Just as Chuck C said..Just ask Terry Green!  :readit:

Me too.  Not opposed to trying others, just don't see the need to fix what isn't broken.

Used Delta's for the first time back in the sixties and started using them seriously in about 1970. When Mike Sohm started Magnus he slotted a Zwickey Delta to accept a bleeder I switched to that configuration.
Shot them that way until Mike started making the Magnus I's from scratch and started with those. (they are 1/8" wider)

Having said all that I'd go back to a Zwickey Delta in a heart beat if I didn't have so many Magnus I's stocked up.

How do they penetrate on deer???

Is this one of those trick questions? ???    :biglaugh:

Zwickey Delta's seem to penetrate better than they should given their width. They will penetrate well on anything you shoot them at.

I just file sharpen, knock the burr off, and go.

You'll be surprised what 2 blades can do to a whitetail.
So will the deer.

Orion

Been shooting Zwickey 4-blade deltas for more than 30 years.  Never had a problem with them.  Punch a nice big hole in a critter. Easy to sharpen, including the bleeders.

meathead

They will be stuck very deep in the mud after passing through a deer.

Longbowshortarrows

Delta's are my choice, never lost a deer hit with one. Sharp is the secret.

Deltas are one of my all time favorites, tagged my first deer with one.  The sun never sets on Zwickey broadheads.

I dont care for the auxiliary blades but if you sharpen them they will work well
