Hey Charlie - nice looking arrows, interesting feather profile.  Is that a custom chopper or are you burning them that shape?
Sorry guys I forgot about this post.

I am relatively new at making arrows and found an old feather burner, figured I would give it a try.

Normally I shoot 3 fletch but thought for a hunting arrow I should have more stability just in case I flub up on the release.

I guess you can call this design a High-Back Shield.  they came out to about 3 inches long (a little by accident) but I figured would be close to three 4 inch shield cuts.

I was trying for a combination of a shield cut and a parabolic cut but wanted it to be taller instead of longer.

They seem to fly good for me so I I'll keep the wire in that shape.

Y'all make some beautiful arrows.  I'd like to try my hand at some 4 fletch banana feathers one day.

I've never used 4" feathers with four fletch, but they seem to be popular.  Snag, those are some really great looking arrows!

Thanks Bernie. I switched to 4 4" fletching from the recommendation of an experienced bowhunter friend. I really like the way they fly and they are quiet. I don't have to look at my arrow to nock it properly like I would with a 3 fletch too.

I just mailed a dozen of these to the guys in Afganistan. 75 x 105 fletching.
