I know I could have asked much more for the bow, and normally charge about twice that for a new custom.  Please don't think that I found a miracle way to produce a bow like that and sell them for that price...that's just not the case.  Like I said before, these bows were prototypes used for design and testing.  That Myrtle bow in particular was never meant to have the I-beam in the riser showing through the shelf side...oops!  I know it's only a cosmetic issue, just not something I would sell at full price.  Again, it is just not possible to build a bow like, that or even close to that, for $350. I just wanted to recover some of the testing, material and tooling costs...that's all!
I feel like I maybe have offended a few of the other bowyers on this site for selling a bow like that (cheap)and that was never my intent.  All of these guys are extremely talented individuals who work incredibly hard to make a living a being a bowyer...and deserve every penny they get for there effort.  These guys are the best of the best and I have the utmost respect for each and every one of them!

I am going to remove that particular bow from my site and just set it aside for the St. Judes auction.  If it sells for more...it will all be for the kids!

The right handed recurve with the blue stripe is a great looking bow hopefully it will be available when I can afford it.

Absolutely not...at least not me. I completely understand. You have a left handed prototype. You haven't offended me at all. I think it is a nice looking bow at a great price.   :clapper:
Until next time...good shooting,

You sure didn't offend me bud!

To say that cheap bows are built poorly, as was stated earlier in this thread, is not very accurate either.  Guys just starting to sell bows often produce a very fine product, but can't ask what the well known bowyers do.  Once thier name is common, and they have quite a few satisfied customers spreading the good news, they normally can raise prices some.

Jared,

You shouldn't feel that way at all. Almost every bowyer I have spoken to has at some point sold a proto or demo at a lower cost than a customer order. I personally think it's a great way by you to get your product out.

he should feel like he offended anyone. he stated it was a early design and wanted to get something from materials.  my bow i bought wasnt much and shoots awsome. i got it cheap because the bowyer is still tweaking his design. his customs will cost alot more then i paid for one of his early models.  there a few bowyers on here that sell bows cheap because they didnt come out as good or they didnt get a wieght mark the customer wanted.
