That certainly does sound special Gary! Sorry to hear the news of your father.... I can't imagine. Great idea with the carving in the bow, I'm sure it'll be a meaningful touch. You`ve got me pumped about these pix...can`t wait!....Ryan

Thanks Ryan, maybe I can carry it in Manitoba one day.

Very sorry to hear about your father, but, He will always know how much you love him. To have his son request a special bow for both of you says it all.

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

The bow is HERE, has been shot, and I'm getting ready to quickly post some photos.  I took the bow out of the box, attached the limbs, set the brace in the middle of the range suggested by Brian, placed a piece of tape at the same nocking point as some of my other bows . . .  and got LUCKY!.  My 340 Axis arrows tipped with 250 gr. FPs flew on target at 15 yards.  My second arrow flew true and smacked the nock of the first arrow so hard that I was sure that it broke it.  I've never had a bow shoot this good, this quickly, right out of the box.  Photos on the way.

Magnificent.
I can't imagine what this bow means, and will mean to you, but I am struck by how fitting a tribute it is to the days afield, and the love, shared by a father and son.

You have my payers and best wishes.

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Unreal! Those limbs, with the contrasts and knots, as well as the carving....WOW! That's gotta be a keeper. And to know it shoots as well as it looks. Congrats!

Thanks for the kind words Killie. The bow has stayed in the same room with me ever since it arrived . . . I can't seem to take my eyes off of it.

Gary what a fitting tribute! I get the feeling in the years to come it will mean even more to you than it does today. It is just a stunning piece of art with alot of love tied to it, and I imagine, strong medicine. It's just awesome man   :campfire:
