A spot I would perch in NY southern Zone.

I seldom ever think to get pictures and seldom have anyone with me.

Charlie Lamb,  How do you do it?  Timer?

Awesome river!  You're a luck man!  I can honestly say I've never been on a muddier body of water in my life....Like shooting fish in a freshly plowed tobacco patch!

Its a place refereed to as the "GUNKS" short for Shawangunks.  It is a National attraction for rock climbers located in an park I lived next door to for several years called Minnewaska.  It is an offset of the Catskill Mountain Range.  It is a truly Beautiful area with waterfalls, Ice caves and such.

Not a ton of wildlife but they are there. Usually you ran into hikers and Bikers though. One time I snuck up on a doe but she busted me at about 20 yards.

Most of the time I spent just Roving.

A feast with good friends and my eldest son to my left

tuba-the freshly collected juice of the fruit stem of the nipa palm,it turns to vinegar after a few days, but a refreshing drink when fresh

What is there to say except, THANKS everyone!

Great pictures!

I look through them, and then go back and do it again. I NEVER tire of looking at the memories everyone has made.

Easykeeper

Gil, you live in a beautiful place.  Looks particularly appealing since it's cold with about two feet of snow on the ground here.

Charlie Lamb

Charlie... Yep, the self timer and a little tripod called an "UltraPod". Weighs a couple of oz. and sets up like a tripod or (most usually the case) straps to a tree limb, fence post, etc.

The main secret is making ourselves take the time to do it.

Thanks Charlie.

I need to figure out the timer on my camera also.

My biggest problem is changing my mindset, Usuaslly I am so focussed on the hunt I forget to enjoy it  :knothead:  and Capture it.

I always love your pictures.

Lowebow, was that two arrows and two blood trails in that photo?
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Yes it was.  And a great memory.  That heavy snow was rare for us..I cut a sheet in 1/2 that morning..scored it w/ a charred stick from the firplace...cut a head hole in it...and wrapped a belt around myself.  6 does came threw and I smoked the 1st one...which caused them all to run...she tumped over 20 yards from the hit.  The woods calmed down and I could see all the other deer and began bleeting at them.  One of the other large does stepped past the dead doe to walk over sniffing the snow and blood...I smoked her also watching her go down in under 30 yards...one of my fondest bowhunting memories...
