You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.

For me that's about right as I shoot over his head. It's the last thing he sees before he runs away  :)

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

"instinctive archery" is more like playing the violin. Without practice you may remember the mechanics, but you will not be a virtuoso.

Great shooting.  Another thought...At least it gives the perspective of sound.  No wonder animals can react to the shot so quickly. Listen to the sound of the bow vs. the impact of the arrow in the target.  I thing this is a great video.

Thanks for sharing.

No disrespect intended D Key, but that's a pretty quiet bow. The sound we are hearing is confined and reflected off the fence and roof above him toward the camera. It would be far quieter in the woods where the sound can truly disperse.

I'll third the response for the video replaying the last thing a squirrel sees before running away from me! A miss and strange feathers suddenly right next to him. Weird looking hawk!

I think ground squirrels and tree squirrels here and see the arrow coming at them ,they seem to duck right at the last second. That what makes them fun.

If my life depended on "jumping" your string...I`d be dead.

Somewhere near you, a coyote was flinching, and he didn`t know why!
