Its been a while since my daughter picked up her bow and when she said to me " Dad, I wanna go shoot", I jumped at the chance to spend that time with her!

We shot at my 20 yard range I have in the basement, and since its been a while since she's picked up her bow, I had her move closer to the target to get the "feel" for it again. I did move my other targets in the way of the sump pump hose, just incase of a "flyer"

After a while of shooting, I got kinda cocky and told her that if she can get her arrows in the vitals of the deer I would give her 50 cents per arrow. And if  she wants to try, I told her to move back a ways and if she got that 1 arrow in the vitals on that one, I would give her $2.00..

Needless to say, she put me in my place, and I lost my money! It was so nice to shoot with her again and spend that much needed time toghter flinging some arrows.

Life goes by to fast, and when teenagers are busy with highscool, and cloths shopping, its nice to keep that fire lite about shooting some arrows toghter and spending some much needed quality time toghter...Enjoy the pictures..

Last but not least..Time to pay up!!

Good for her!  Looks like you got a bargain...

Nice basement range.

Wow, if I start paying all three daughters for their shots, all of Hades might as well break loose...

Seriously, shooting with your kids (and with only daughters I'm a bit partial) is some great time together.

Two decades ago I made a mistake of not taken my youngest daughter hunting  (11 yrs old)  ,And then I never got the chance to do it again. Life Her MS ,Marriage ,Kids .

She's 35 now ,And the last time I talk to her about deer hunting she said

"And you never did take needed to "

Memory like an elephant .

You just keep those connections going, And maybe when you are old gray ,She will take you to her favorite hunting spot.

Good on you

Nice way to spend some time together,Rick. And seeing as she was probably going to get into your wallet to go shopping anyway, she might as well earn it. Enjoy the time together while you can. Time is the most important thing a parent can give a child...though she'll probably argue that your car keys are more important.

That is so cool.  God bless you for sharing.  And your daughter has better form than you LOL!  I am envious... my daughter will not take an interest.  I think I may order a lite weight pink bow and make up a few arrows and try to get her at least a little interested.

Fantastic!  Love to see parents keeping in touch with their kids.  It will pay huge dividends later!
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
