Hello TGers,

i have noticed that some bow design have triple curves in the limbs.

What are the advantages/disavantages of such design ? only speed ?

Your hints will be warmly welcomed.

Best reagrds,

Which bow desings are you reffering to? Can you give a name of these bows? That may help some people know what you are asking.

I think he means the model "Wave" recurve built by Black Swan Achery.
Blacktail TD Recurve: 66", 42# @ 30". Arrow: 32", 2212. PW: 75 Grains. AW: 421 Grains. GPP: 10.02
Blacktail TD Recurve: 66", 37# @ 30". Arrow: 32", 2212. PW: 75 Grains. AW: 421 Grains. GPP: 11.37

The Whittler

Also I think Chastain (spelling) bows did the same, or I could be wrong.

Watch(or imagine) as they bend.  The bowyer is building in not one, but two "action" areas that act as springs and a recurved area that acts as a lever.  Might work better, might not, I don't know, but I think it is very imaginative and different.  I may yet end up with one myself.

I accidently added some of these features in my first bow form years ago, albeit pretty crudely done compared to The Wave.  looked weird, but shot well enough.

The Black Swan owner/bowyer, Arvid, told me the Wave is especially good for guys with ahoulder problems.  I believe that is the primary reason for that bow's design.
I kind of forget the details of the force curve for that bow his web site may explain how that wave look to the limbs helps a bad shoulder.  I think the bow reaches its designed pull weight real quickly and then "levels out" putting less stress on our shoulder at full draw.

I'm just happy to be here!

Tree Rat

Is this a copy of, or similar to, the Bill Stewart Multi-cam?

Didn't the Skookum bow have that back in the late 80's.  Nothing new in Archery.    ;)
