Abowyer BH question

Does anyone modify the tips of the Abowyer heads where they aren't sharp? Just curious, because it seems to me that the blunt part of the tip would inhibit penetration. Am I missing something (besides experience with the heads)?

Thanks.

Andy, they are fine just the way they are. Trust me on this. 12 deer and 6 hogs recovered in less than 30 yards with 42 to 47lb bows , tells me the tip is fine. Just go shoot something. Don

They're tantoed, but they're still sharp.  Can work them on a stone a little if you want to make them sharper yet, but, as batman points out, really isn't needed.

There made that way for a very important reason. Bone penetration and durability. Shot three deer this year with Wapitis.....all fell in 20 yards or less.
