question about alaskan 3 under super tab

hi there i hope someone can help me with this i just got a 3 under cordovan Alaskan super tab and one side is black the other is a dark leather type color, it looks as though the black side is like a rubber layer on it but im not shore. witch side am i suppose to use on the string please help.

i have tryed using it both ways and as im not that use to tabs i cant find much difference, here are a few pics for u to look at. as u can see one side is black and almost feels like a kind of rubber and is fairly slippery on the string and the other is like a very fine leather and inst quite as slipery on the string but i have herd that they get better after use. so i have know idea witch side to use on the string please help.

The leather side goes up, wipe down with oil about once a week. I have one that is 3 years old, gets shot daily.

From your pics it looks like the top one is the side that should go to the string...

I shoot one like Sam K... Mines 4-5 years old now and I have backups for backups and still running on the original... love it!!!

Thanks so just to confirm the dark brown leather looking side goes to the string?

That's the way mine is... although I have to look close now as it's so grubby from all the shooting I've done with it ;-)
