LOve this one. Custom made for me. The arrow on it looks just like the ones I use. Has my initials up top, and the Bear Archery logo.

Wannabe1

Bill, that is probably the best looking hip quiver I've ever seen! I really like that one!!      :clapper:

Bill, that carving looks great.

Did you do it?

This is my favorite plains style quiver and is the 1st one that I built.Again, bison leather and a bison tail.

Jacko

Lots of nice gear there fella's, given me a few idea's and motivation for my next project. Here's some of the gear I've made

My first tooled leather projects

2nd and 3rd tooled leather projects - Pocket sized Quivers - made for my Daughter, depicts Winnie the Pooh Bowhunting a very cagey Dumbo. 2nd - as close as I'll get to hunting Cape Buffalo

my next tooled leather Quiver project depicts Australian native flowers - someone made a generous offer so I sold it.

Made this stalker style Quiver from scrap and recycled leather - someone liked it more than me so I sold it

This one was a real pain, took me over 50 hours to make - sold it too. See the pattern with making nice Quiver for myself

My mates gives me heaps about this Quiver, they reckon it looks like Mr Socko instead of a Snake

Any one own a Black Widow, just sold this

regards Jacko

I've made a few too, but I can't post my plain jane ones next to you guys!  This stuff is great!

Almost anything can be made into a quiver.  My first was made of a plastic jar, cardboard, and some fake suade, at about 8 years old maybe.  My next was a simple hip quiver tube, maybe 12.  My last was a modified plains style quiver with 6 sleeves for broadheads (at 40).

I've got leather out the wazzou, but nearly anything can make a quiver.  I like the elm bark ones posted, and I've seen birch used the same way.  The Native Americans also wove quivers outta reeds, and you could do the same with many natural materials - like honeysuckle.  I've also seen some cool ones outta trade blankets.  Be creative; I've got some neoprene sleeves cut off of a wet suit.  Anyone wanna blue quiver?

Nice looking work.

I have  a quiver I won at a St Judes auction. The fella made it out of bamboo (bamboo mat)  and leather.

It is by far my favorite quiver for anything other than hunting. I use it all the time.

The Huntress

Here are a couple that I made:

I am so impressed by the other quivers posted to this thread! I guess that a love of crafts is pretty common among us trad bowhunters!

2fletch

Well, I'm impressed. There are some very nice quivers shown here. You can't make some things to sell because they would be too expensive. It's great to see that we have such great craftsmen amongst us.  :clapper:

I wanted to bring this back to the top, in case anyone might want to add more.

Some really awesome looking quivers!  Here's my humble submission, made out of a 3" diameter piece of bamboo:

how does everyone imprint there leather to show desighns like deer or buffalo???
"SHOOT STRAIT" - something im still working twards

YORNOC

Its called tooling, a whole art in itself. Involves dampening vegetable tanned leather, tracing patterns onto it and using special tools to create patterns(like deer and buffalo) The Tandy Leather website gives free vidoes and how to's. It will get you started.

Lots of talent at this site. Here are a few I've made over the years. Migra Bill it looks like you and I have a similar idea. NICE!!!

Killdeer

I finally wore it out. That pants-leg quiver saw more service than any quiver I own. Lasted about fifteen years. Not bad for denim, woven cotton string belt, old arrow shaft stiffener and two binder clips.

Maybe I'll patch it.

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.
