I don't put much into specific dates other than  historical dates, IE 11/14 is pretty good day to hunt. While looking at the 2011 calander for next years hunting, the date sort of stood out. Friday 11/11/11 It is at the peak where I hunt and usually has activity. It could be a good date to be in the woods. So I checked, full moon is on 11/10/11?, moon set on 11/11 7:25 AM, sun rise 6:34. I hope to be on stand.

Ricker

Now that is what I call pre-planning. Good thinking.

Seems like an 11 pointer might be in your future.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Six hours before or after moon set should be prime feeding time as per the solunar table.

I have had more luck with a rising moon. But for that day it's 20+minutes after hunting hours. I think the 10Th would be the better day to hunt..

Are you kidding me......I just can't plan or think that far ahead. I'm hope'n I'm able to get out of bed that day and hunt or do anything else for that matter!!!   :dunno:
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

And to think there are those that are predicting that a great hunting day in the middle of the rut is going to be the end of the world.  The numbers are for astrology wackos, but the full moon the second week of November is for bow hunters.  This year the rut was off and so was the full moon.

A prize to the TradGang member who makes a BG kill on or closest to 11:11 on 11/11/11.  Honor system and accurate watches applies!

Archery isn't something I do, it's who I am!
The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

If I'm not mistaken the 11th minute of the 11th hour of the 11th month in the year 1918 was when the Armistice was signed ending WW I. Thus was born Veterans Day.
Just a bit of trivia but my Grandfather was a  doughboy, and a veteran of trench warfare in France, and that date held special meaning to him.  I'll be in the woods that day but at the 11th min.of the 11th hour, I'll will pause and say a silent prayer.

BG = Big Game, Mudd.  Try to keep up or you'll have to sit at the children's table....

I will plan on being in the hills hunting on  11-11-1011 I'll figure on something great happening. Also Rick at the appointed time as you indicated I will also pause and say a prayer like you. My Grandfather was also a doughboy in France during WWI. When I hunt I always take in my heart and mind those vets who served and those who gave their all. I think of my old army buddies and all those who serve now. Every hunt is always successful and because of our vets then and now, I can still hunt. I am thankful and in good company.

At 48, I'm still at the "children's table", as far as Trad Archery goes. I hope to be ready to make the switch from "training wheels" to the bows of my fore-fathers. That would be a great day to slay my first Trad deer!

I missed a really big (170" class) 6x6 buck this past season on 10/10/10. He jumped the string, spun away and my arrow passed along side what was a split second before a broadside buck. Otherwise I would have had him. So much for predictions :>(

DV of WI

Mr. Wensel up to that moment in time he was all yours, which aren't they all until we actually have to. Now your have 11/11/11 to make it all better with that specific deer.

Take the whole week off and be on stand as much as possible!

I think I will also put my tree stand 11 feet, 11 inches off the ground just for good measure.

Hey guys, 11/11/11 is Veterans Day. I will also be out hunting in  Honor of my Veteran  family members, friends, buddies and other Veterans.  God Bless them all for they gave us this freedom to do as we will. Don

And have an 11 point bruiser stand for the shot at 11 paces. I'm liking the rhythm of all this...
