Cool!  I think the guy is lucky to have a wife like that.

Mudd sez "the human spirit can be an amazing thing"...true enough.  It often times takes the amazing spirit of another human to energize the other....the giving of hope, strength, power and when all else fails, prayer.

When our friends and family stand with us, we soon learn that we can, indeed, do almost anything.  And it is then we find the will to try.

It's been awhile since I've watched his show.I really enjoyed that story and thanks for sharing.Definitly not a lazy man I never knew ole Tred had his hands in so many things.

rascal

This guy wrestles every bit of life he can out of every moment, Doin It The Hard Way indeed.  In a society that seems to prefer to give up versus getting on with it, he truly is an inspiring individual. And surely it would be a sinful thing to forget his wife... Talk About Tuff!!!
Hunt fair, hunt hard, no regrets.

I've always thought of him as a bigmouth in the past, but I now have a lot of respect for him. I saw his bear hunt show and how the guide and his friends lugged him over that terrain in his chair. You can watch that episode with the sound turned off and still see all the different emotions in the faces. Tred could not put into words the gratitude of something like that and the tears at the end said it all.

bless 'em all...

My statement here holds true and wasn't limited to Mr. Barta.

I had the priviledge of meeting Mr.Barta and his wife Anni at a Houston airport on the way to a family thing around thanksgiving I recogninsed him while he was wheeling away from a crocs booth I went up to Anni and asked if they had time to stop for a moment for an autograph and picture Tred was on the move and I caught up to her first she hollered at him and he came over we chatted shortly and he found a sharpie and signed my hat "To Levi never give up! Tred Barta"
He is a very nice, inspiring man and Anii is as nice as could be.

I've heard it said that Christianity is a crutch.  To me, it's a walking stick to use on the path of life.

SCATTERSHOT

I read that this morning. Quite a guy! And on the front page, no less!
"Experience is a series of non - fatal mistakes."

Hope to see him walk again some day soon included in my prayers. Tred swims against the current.

I always liked the show, though went from "he says it like it is", to "What an obnoxious, self centered a**".  Often in the same show.  But my respect for him has gone off the charts since I have seen him work through the stroke (and now the cancer).  He is truly an inspiration.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

The article says "He captains a fleet of high-end fishing boats at a resort in Panama. He directs his long-standing fishing tournaments that have raised more than $1 million for children's causes. He's been recertified in scuba diving. He pilots his family's 63-year-old aviation business, buying and selling corporate aircraft. He designs and builds his own line of birch-and-maple longbows, a primitive, hard-to-use weapon with a storied history as one of hunting's first tools. And he's filmed eight episodes of his celebrated show."

The only thing I don't understand is why they solicited donations for medical help.

That being said, I wish him the best and admire his attitidue under unimaginable conditions.

Tred is an inspiration. It was disappointing though to read the "comments" following the article. It is surprising just how many anti's were negative, especially the people that thought a longbow was inhumane.
Time spent alone in the woods puts you closer to God.

"Can't" never accomplished anything.
