I recently took off my D97 bowstring and put it into my string bag to have for an extra, its seen a couple hunting seasons, and has flung more arrows than i care to fathom, so its well and stretched! I put on another one thats the same thing, set brace height and shot 3, 3 shot groups before checking it! I did this a few more times, and after 30 arrows or so it doesnt seem to have moved anymore! I know its got way less stretch/work in time than a new Dacron string does, but this is unbelievable! Any idea what a good shot # would be to insure its stretched, as im goin bunny hunting with it this weekend, and have to serve knock point on and put on silencers?

Depending on the number of strands and the # of your bow, you should be ready to go now. Nock point is not going to move appreciably and silencers will be fine.

Bjorn is right. I make my own flemish D-97 strinrs, and when done, I put one loop over a rod in a vise, and the other over one in my hands, and stretch with my weight pullin on it, then twist till I have the right brace height, and then set everything and shoot away. Was shooting one tonight I made 2 weeks ago, about 1000 shots thru it, no difference.

That really depends on how much it was stretched/burnished prior to you getting it. Once it has settled in, though (which it sounds like it has since the BH didn't move after your shooting session), then it should be set from now on. Only time it might move is the first time you have it in some really hot weather. But even then it might only move a small amount.

I used alot of friction rubbing wax into the string, as well as taking a heat gun to it to help the wax penetrate better!
