I have saved up a bunch of turkey feathers of my own, and gun hunting buddies, and just got a new chopper in form 3Rivers. I am making 3" parabolics using natural and some fl. yellow full length I had bought. I fletched up a few, hadnt shot them that much since last summer, and was shooting tonight in a cross wind, 175grn head up front35/55 cut to my length. I was shooting them with some 4" parabolics also, to reafirm what I had experienced this summer. I noticed at 25-30 yds, the 3" feathered shafts had no tail kick from the 10mph crossswind(est.), but the 4" did first 10 -15 yards before recovering. I have shot this same setup with WW and Ace std broadheads, same great flight, as long as I have a good release. I am planning on hunting this spring when turkey season opens with this set up. Any thoughts from you guys with actual experience?

I agree, good form and good release no issues. Cold, stiff , poor release I'll take a little bigger feather.

This summer i tried the 3" 4fletch and I thought they flew great. I haven't tried with a BH, but with a field point they shot great.

me i stick with 3 5" full helical burn my own.  I used to shoot 4 4" full helical but quit it when i went to buying full length feathers for economy stake.  Can't see as it makes much difference.  I have never ran varying feather combos past a chronograph though.

I'm shooting 3" shields (4 fletch) on my ad lites with 200 grains up front and they fly great. Broadheads and field tips hit the same. 51# @ 27" Brack Quest.
