Looking for your opinions on Schafer Silvertip draw length in relation to length of bow. Dave's website says  58" takedown foe 25 to 27.5--What's your experiences on the bow stacking after 27.5 or is it smooth out  to where? THANKS TG'rs   :help:

Froggy

I pull 28", but can draw my 58" Silvertip to my ear without a hint of stack...

I shoot a 58" Tip and my draw is 29". No stack.  I shoot three under which for me means less finger pinch.

Split finger I get finger pinch on anything less than 62".

Blackhawk

I draw 29" and find the 62" Tip very comfy...but used to have a 60" that drew nice too.  Sorry, never shot a 58" Tip.

There has been a beautiful Charcoal 58 " "tip" with green camo limbs    floating among some of us here... For me at my 28 1/2" draw it was OK. However, I got a chance at a 60'r and it's way nicer at my draw    ... Hince, the "floater going around".  I sure wish the one I have now had camo limbs like that beauty did... But Quilted Tamo ash is pretty to the eye also.  ;)

Gotta watch it though, drawing past the recommended length can void the warranty...meaning something bad can be going on at those distances.

I've only shot a 58" at 26" and that's what I have on order.

I would really like to shot one of this "tip" bows. After reading about the man behind the bow I think I want one more than black widow I am 5'10" 27 1/2" draw. I like  short recurves I shoot a 55# reflex nomad t/d so with this much info what kind of bow should I be looking into buying I also need the web site to look at these bows. Any info would be great  thank Mike

Bjorn

I have a 60" and a 64" they are both smooth as butta'!

CDR

I have a 60" one piece, and a 60" takedown Tip. At my drawlength 28" like Bjorn said they are "smooth as butta"!

Covey

I have a 60" takedown, 54# at 28". I draw it to 30" and can't tell a bit of differance. Like Bjorn says "smooth as butta"! Jason

Froggy

Dave,
I also have this 56" 3pc Silvertip, it has the same length limbs as my 58" and both 60"ers I used to own. It is as smooth as either of them. The riser is 13" long... a fine treestand or blind recurve.

You might call Beth at Schafer.  When I called to ask about a "test drive" bow she sent me one of Dave's personal Lefties to shoot for a few days. It convinced me to order a bow. Of course I don't know if they have a RH to try or even if this lefty is available for try.

Ah Froggy...there's those cool 56" Silvertips again!  I think you posted pics of one of these a few months ago (around August). I talked to Beth quite a bit about making mine a 56" instead of 58" for me. I decided upon 58" though. I'm going to shoot from an elevated rest and I fear the shorter sight window might make me a bit claustophobic?

cacciatore

I love the idea to own a Tip in 56".I think they can still build some.

I have been shooting a 58" silvertip since 1984 and it is totally smooth at my 29" draw.  :archer2:

Froggy

I have a 60"tip and can draw to the front of my ear with no stack...that is about 31".

I don't know what Dave does to those bows but they are some of the smoothest bows I've shot.
