I have a 68' Skookum longbow made Fred Anderson. Does anyone know the proper or approximate brace height for this bow?

I would start at 7" and work from there probably between a quarter inch either way.

Fred advised 6 1/2 and that is what I have mine set to. Good to read about Skookums, not many have this beautiful longbow from Fred.

Gene,
I have a 64" Hyak Diamonback. My brace height is 6 1/2" and nock height is 3/8"-7/16". The bow is 57# at 27 1/2". I did not know that Fred made the Hyak in a 62".

Just want to thank you guys for the information. This morning I was able to set the bow up using your recommendations and then take it out and do a litttle shooting. Let me tell you that there was a night and day difference from the the way the bow shot previously. I still need to do some tweaking on the bow, such as putting on a new leather shelf plate and getting some appropriate arrows to match the bow, but I'm confident that this is the bow that will accompany me to the elk woods this fall.

Thanks again.

I own two and have them set at 6 1/2, arrows fly great and bows are silent.
